If you've finally decided to give in to the kids' begging for something fun to do, here's where you'll most certainly come. This amusement park, located 10 minutes west of town, will please the young ones for hours, as they scramble to reach the abundance of rides and entertainment. Among the attractions are roller coasters, bumper cars, a log flume, mini-golf, haunted house, magic show and a fishing hole. Activities for younger kids as well as older ones are available, and you'll find a good supply of theme park food for consumption (at over 20 venues), including hamburgers and cotton candy. Occupying more than 66 acres along the Glenmore Reservoir, this historical village recreates Calgary's pre-1914 existence. Scores of buildings capture the flavor of the past, as does a variety of authentic transportation, including steam engine, horse-drawn wagon, sternwheeler and streetcar. You'll also find carnival rides, dozens of exhibits about all facets of the city's history, and demonstrations of arts, crafts and industries. A restaurant and bakery are among the options for dining and refreshments.
